What is XFur Studio Core?
XFur Studio Core is a brand-new product from the XFur Studio family that allows you to add high quality fur to your creatures with ease, with only the essential features. It comes at a more affordable price but includes all the stability, performance and quality that our users have come to expect from our products.
XFur Studio Core does not contain any of the advanced XFur Studio Modules such as Physics, VFX, LOD, Decals & Randomization. These features are available only in XFur Studio 3. Furthermore, XFur Studio Core does not support the use of Curly nor Emissive Fur.
What then, does XFur Studio Core include?
XFur Studio Core includes fur rendering through the advanced shells method for Legacy (Bult-in) and Universal Rendering Pipelines, the full XFur Studio Designer suite to style the fur within the Unity Editor, and access to the XFur Studio API to perform runtime modifications to the fur. For many small projects and simple implementations of fur rendering, these features are the only ones required.
Upgrading to the full XFur Studio 3 suite
At any moment you may decide to upgrade to XFur Studio 3 by purchasing a copy through the Asset Store. Once the full suite has been installed in your project, you only need to import the fur profiles from XFur Studio Core into the XFur Studio Instance component of XFur Studio 3. All the styling, properties and values of the fur will be a 1 to 1 match between both editions.
